During your appointment, Katrina will use high quality Video Otoscopy (imaging) to look into your ear canal and identify the build up of ear wax.

She can then use a variety of techniques including micro-suction, manual removal and irrigation. All done with specialist equipment and carried out by a highly trained Audiologist.Â

Common Questions
How long is the appointment?
A typical ear wax removal appointment takes approximately 30 minutes. This allows Katrina enough time to perform a thorough assessment using video otoscopy, explain the findings, and carefully remove any blockages using the most appropriate method for your comfort.
How can I prepare for the appointment?
To ensure the most effective and comfortable removal, we recommend using olive oil ear drops (available at most pharmacies) twice a day for 2-3 days prior to your visit. This helps soften the wax, making it much easier and quicker to remove during your appointment.
What if no wax is found?
If our video otoscopy reveals that your symptoms are not caused by wax, Katrina will provide a full health check of your ear canal and eardrum including a scan check of your underlying hearing.Â
